Authors and Death

as horrible as this may sound, every single person (from church boy to old man) is interested in death. if you or i for example was to watch a murder take place, neither of us would be able to take our eyes away from what was going on. there is just something about it that entices us. authors often write about death i think as a way to convey their thoughts or emotions on to the readers. i also think that by writing about death, it makes the reader stop and think about everything going on not only in the story but also in real life. death is a prominent thing in life it happens every day and at some point in life you experience the emotions and thoughts as well as the nothingness that comes with it. I've personally experienced the effects that death causes. in one year i lost six people, one right after the next. the hardest ones was when i knew it was coming. when you know death is coming it makes it more real as well as it brings fear. fear of the unknown. obviously you cant really die and then come back to life and write about it so instead authors try to make it as real as possible so that its not as feared. they don't want to glorify death, but they want to make it better? or at least in the way that we think of death now.
