The Moon is Down - part 2

in the second half of the book, The Moon is Down, i believe that the town as a whole won, but overall as individuals everyone lost. the townspeople were able to get help even with those simple bombs that were dropped. with that happening i think that was what really helped them win only because it was a boost to their confidence that they could actually fight back against the enemy.

on the other hand, everyone lost because every single person had their own individual battle that they had to face. one example of this is when Molly kills the soldier that was pretty much harassing her, the same soldier that killed her husband Alex. Molly has to suffer through her husband getting killed, living alone trying to fend for her self, killing the soldier, and then finally escaping leaving everything and everyone that she knows behind. when she does have to flee for her life, she probably couldnt take anything with her either.

months beore the was was actually over, the soldiers were starting to have low morral which in turn made it even worse for them because it kept spreading and getting worse, especially when they would start talking about everything that they missed from back at home like girls, and beer, and even having a dog.

overall, in war no one wins. people die on both sides both mentally and physically. it takes everything out of and from a person. when its over, you have nothing left and most of the time there is nothing for you to want to go home to even.
