The Story of an Hour by:Kate Chopin

When Mrs. Mallard found out that her husband was dead she suddenly cried. when something tragic happens you typically go into shock because your not sure what you should do. should you cry, laugh, turn into a statue? Mrs. Mallard was happy that her husband was dead. By going into her room she had time to be by herself for once knowing that she was totally free. She could do anything that she wanted now, plus she didnt even love her husband. at the end when she sees that her husband is still alive, i think that she would rather be dead than have to live another day with him which is why she dies. Mrs. Mallard would rather die then stay in her loveless marriage with a person who controls every move that she makes.

  1. Was she then liberated when she died or did her disappointment kill her? Or, I guess, is it both?
